Given:

an = 2n^2 +1

Let's find first term=>

a1 = 2(1)^2 +1

a1 = 3

similarly second term

a2 = 2(2)^2 +1

a2 = 9

similarly third term

a3 = 2(3)^2 +1

a3 = 19

We can easily observe common difference (d) is not same

a2-a1 = 6 = d

where as

a3-a2 = 10 = d

If common difference (d) is not same it is not an A. P
