Show that the surface area of a sphere is the same as that of the lateral surface of a right circular cylinder that just enclose the sphere.​

let radius of sphere be R

so area of sphere =4pieRsq.

sphere is enclosed in cylinder so radius of cylinder is also R

and height is the diameter of sphere so height is 2R

area of cylinder Is 2pieRH

=2pieR*2R

=4pieRsq.

so area of sphere=area of cylinder
