conservation of momentum
according to principle of conservation of linear momentum the total momentum of a system remains constant if no external force acts on it.
consider two balls of mass M1 B of mass M2 rolling on a perfectly smooth table with initial velocities UA and UB such that Ua greater than Ub. they undergoes collision for time t and move with velocities Va and Vb.

Conservation of momentum :
'When the net external force on a system of objects is zero , the total momentum of the system remains constant.'
- The total momentum of an isolated system of objects remains constant.
- Momentum is conserved for all types of collisions that take place in real world in the absence of any external force.
- Rocket propulsion or the recoil of gun are based on the conservation of momentum as well as Newton's third law. This is because the law of conservation of momentum is derived using Newton's third law.
Initial momentum = Final momentum.
