Here we have to see at net force. Net force = F1 - F2. So if you apply somewhat say nearby say 30 force (F1 here) and and F2 is 0 then it would be 30 only. But if F1 = F2, then the net force would be zero. You can also do an activity to prove this. Take one of your friend then take a box. You push on the one side and your on friend on the opposite site. Did the box move?Here if both of yours force was equal then it would have stayed as it is. Simple. But there are chances of box to break because of force acting on it.
