Steps:-

putting x=1

=(1)^3+(1)^2-10(1)+8

=1+1-10+8

=10-10

=0

So we can conclude that x-1 is a factor .

If x+4 is a factor of x^3+x^2-10x+8 then if we put -4 in place of x then value should be 0

Steps:-

putting x=-4

=(-4)^3+(-4)^2-10(-4)+8

=-64+16+40+8

=-64+64

=0

So we can conclude that x+4 is a factor.
