Put all x one side and other numbers aside first  :-

x + 8x/3 + 5x/8 = 17/6 - 7

Take LCM.

(24x - 64x + 15x) /24

=(17 - 42) /6

(-25/24) x = (-25/6)

(-24 )gets canceled on both sides .

x/24 = x/6

Cancel 24 with 6 .

x/4 = 1

x = 4

Hence proved !
