Step 1- Find the Formula

Let's use the SVSDF Method for this:

S- Mg    O

V  2      2

S  2      2

D   1       1

F  Mg     O

So, the formula is MgO.

(SVSDF- Symbol, valency, Switch, Divide, Formula)

Step 2- Draw both the atoms

Step 3- Move the 2 valence electrons of Mg to fill the remaining 2 valence electrons of Oxygen
