Effect of temperature of solid:

  1. It breaks bonds in solid which makes it to melt into liquid.

Effects of temperature on liquids:

  1. change in temperature of liquids also allows breaking of bonds which changes liquid to gas (which basically is what evaporation is all about).
  2. as mentioned above it also increases the rate of evaporation.
  3. Eventually it allows the liquid to reach its boiling point and brings about boiling in the liquid.

Solids changes into liquid and liquids into gases due to increase in temperature only because when we increase the temperature, due to kinetic energy generated by heat in the molecules,the molecules starts to move in zig zag pattern and thus the intermolecular force of attraction between the molecules brakes down and solids changes into liquids and further into gaseous state and vice -versa
