• Long sightedness or hypermertropia is caused due to

i) low converging power of eye lens

ii) due to eye ball being too short

• In hypermetropic eye , the image of nearby object lyindg at near point N is formed behind the retina

• Near point of hypermetropic eye shifts farther than Near point of normal eye .

• Convex lens is used to rectify hypermetropic eye . As , it forms virtual image of object lying at N at new Normal point of affected eye .
