number of images formed= n=360/θ-1
as two mirrors are perpendicular to each other
⇒θ=90 degrees=360/90 - 1
=4-1
=3
so total three images will be formed.

Answer : when the two mirrors are placed at right angles to each otherwhen an object is placed in front of two plane mirrors placed at right angles to each other three images are formed as shown in figure given alongside.
1. the image one of the object is due to mirror 1
2. the image 2 of the object o is due to mirror 2
3.the third image 3 may be considered to be the image of first in the image of mirror to or the image of to the same image of the mirror 1
