Atomic number of sodium(Na) is 11 atoms in last shell is 1.
atomic number of chlorine(cl) is 17 atoms in last shell is 7.
so Na gives 1 atom to chlorine.
This is complete transfer of electrons so it is ionic compound

plz if it is useful then Mark it BRAINLIEST

2Na+Cl2=2NaCl   2 is added on both the sides to balance the equation
