  • The Konkan coast is the rugged part of western coastline and extends to the north in the Gulf of Cambay and extends to the southern side to lands of Maharashtra and the Goa and meets the Canaras coast at Karwar of Karnataka.  
  • It's bounded by the western ghat mountain ranges in the east and the Arabian Sea in the west and gangavalli river in the south. Specific casts and tribal communities are found in this region such as the  Vadavali, Maratha, Bhandari, Mahar, etc.
  • The largest city of the Konkan coast is Mumbai as the state capital of Maharashtra.
