salivary glands- secretes saliva which helps in initial breakdown.

mouth- churns the food.

pharynx- joins mouth with oesophagus.

oesophagus- pushes down the food to stomach.

stomach- secretes acids and enzymes; mixes food with them for enzymatic digestion.

liver- produces and secretes bile.

gall bladder- stores bile and introduces it to small intestine.

pancreas- produces and secretes pancreatic juice

small intestine- mixes food with pancreatic juice and bile; final enzymatic breakdown of food; main site of nutrients absorption.

large intestine- absorbs water and electrolytes to form feces.

rectum- regulates elimination of feces.
