Functions of the Union Parliament:

Union executive implements the law passed by the parliament. The union executive consists of Indian parliament building the President, Prime Minster and Council of Ministers. Parliament is the supreme legislative body of India. The Parliament has the power of making law on union and Concurrent List in our country. The main function of both the Houses is to make laws. Every Bill has to be passed by both the Houses and assented to by the President before it becomes law. The subjects over which Parliament can legislate are the subjects mentioned under the Union List in the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution of India.

Powers of the Union Parliament:

The Parliament is also vested with powers to impeach the President and to remove the Judges of Supreme Court and High Courts, the Chief Election Commissioner and the Comptroller and Auditor General in accordance with the procedure laid down in the Constitution. The four Administrative or Executive Powers of the Union Parliament are: Monetary Controls: The Parliament can move a cut motion when the Union Budget is under consideration. The Parliamentary Committee ensures that the public money is spent in accordance with Parliament's decision.
