Assuming that he only wears the shoes as matched pairs, and only wears one pair of pants and one T-shirt at a time… he has 16 combinations.

Let's say he has a brown pair of shoes, and a white pair.. and let's label his shirts “A",”B",”C", and “D".. and his pants “1” and “2”.

His combinations are:

A1brown. B1brown. C1brown. D1brown

A2brown B2brown C2brown D2brown

A1white B1white C1white D1white

A2white B2white C2white D2white

That's 16 combinations.. its 4(shirts) x 2(pants) x 2(shoes).

If he can mix his shoes, then the answer is 32, because he doubles his shoe combinations. Instead of just brown/brown and white/white, his possibilities are now brown/brown, brown(left)/white(right), white(left)/brown(right) and white/white.
