By Pythagoras theorem

7square + 1square =50

  1. Take base as 7 units and 1 unit perpendicular to 7 units. Join the initial point of 7 cm to terminate point of 1 cm. Which is our required square root of 50 cm.
  2. Take initial point of 7 unit as centre and open compass from initial point of 7 units to terminate point of 1 cm at its radius. Draw a circle.
  3. The point of contact of this circle on base (which is 7 cm) is square root of 50 on number line.
