Draw a line and mark AB = 7.2 units
From B mark another point C such that BC = 1 unit.
Locate the midpoint of AC and mark it as O.
With O as centre and radius OA or OC draw a semi-circle.
Draw perpendicular at point B.
Let the perpendicular intersect the semi circle at D.
Here BD represents √(7.2)
Now with B as centre and radius BD draw an arc on the straight line.
Mark the intersection as X.
Then BX represents √(7.2)
