Given :    g(x)  =  (x + 3)/(2x + 2)

To find :  Value of g(x)   As x → ∞

Solution:

g(x)  =  (x + 3)/(2x + 2)

\lim_{x \to \infty}  g(x)

= \lim_{x \to \infty}  (x + 3)/(2x + 2)

Dividing numerator & denominator by x

= \lim_{x \to \infty}  (1 + 3/x)/(2 + 2/x)

\lim_{x \to \infty}   a/x  =  0

=  (1 + 0)/(2 + 0)

= 1/2

g(x)  = 1/2  if   x → ∞
