Solution

Given ΔSHR∼ΔSVU.

In ΔSHR,SH=4.5cm,HR=5.2cm,SR=5.8cm and

SV

SH

=

5

We have to construct ΔSVU

Steps of construction:

Draw a line segment SH=4.5cm

With S as center, draw an arc of the radius 5.8cm

With H as center, draw an arc of the radius 5.2cm, that cuts the previously drawn arc at R. Join RS and RH.

Take a point V in the extended line SH such that SH:SV=3:5.

Draw VU parallel to HR.
