Shreya has a table cloth of length 2m and breadth 1m.She wants to put a lace all around it.She brought 7metre of lace for this .Is the lace sufficient ? Will there be any lace left

Perimeter of the table cloth=2(l+b)

                                             =2(2+1)m

                                             =2(3)m

                                             =6m

7m-6m=1m

=Yes,the lace is sufficient.

=Yes,there will be 1m lace left.

IF the breadth and length are same we can say that it is a square..

breadth =1m

Length = 2m

We need find perimeter of rectangle = 2( l+b)

=> 2 (2+1)

=> 2 (3)

=> 6 m

Now the left over is

= 7m - 6m

= 1m
