Total purchase = 7.99 + 4.25 + 1.99 = $14.23

.

Calculate Discount:

15% x $14.23 = 0.15 x 14.23 = $2.13 (nearest cent)

.

Calculate cost after discount:

$14.23 - $2.13 = $12.10

.

Change:

$20 - $12.10 = $7.90

.

Answer: She spent $12.12 and she had $7.90 back as change.
