Shri and his family lived in a house near the edge of the Jungle, so it was not

unlikely that a wild animal might have got into the kitchen. As the house was not

quite completed and there were no doors fitted to the bedrooms. Sree and

Mandakini decided to hide in the store -room which had a stout strong door.Though the two youngsters tried to be quick and quiet, their movements were

noticed and their pursuer followed them. Most unfortunately the store- room

could only be locked from outside so , with the leopard at their heels. Sree and his

sisters scrambled up on the ledge near the ventilator. when the snarling animal

leapt towards them , the two children realise that had the ledge between just one

foot lower they would have become the Leopard’s meal.

The brother and sister could safely have stayed on the ledge all night. But, if

the leopard remained there until the unsuspecting parents returned from a

friend’s funeral wishes animal would make short work of them so free thought of a

plant he called out through the ventilator, jumped all the way to the ground and

enter the house through the back door. Luckily ,Mandakini was shouting and

yelling at the leopard and the leopard was equally noisy. she was able to creep up

to the store room and bolt the door.

Although the leopard itself at the door, the door was not sturdy to give way.
