Given:

  • Principal = Rs. 85000
  • Rate = 7 %
  • Time = 2 years and half year = 2.5 years

What To Find:

We have to find the simple interest.

Formula:

\sf{SI = \dfrac{PRT}{100}}

Solution:

Using the formula,

\sf{SI = \dfrac{PRT}{100}}

Substitute the values,

\sf{SI = \dfrac{8500 \times 7 \times 2.5}{100}}

Cancel the zeros,

\sf{SI = 85 \times 7 \times 2.5}

Multiply the numbers,

⇒ SI = Rs. 1487.5

∴ Therefore, the simple interest is Rs. 1487.5.
