It is that characteristics of sound by which we can distinguish between different sounds of the same loudness. Due to this characteristics we can distinguish between a man voice and women voice of the same loudness without seeing them pitch of a sound depends on the frequency of vibration greater the frequency of a sound the higher will be the pitch. So Pitch is also called shrillness.
