Shrimant was laborer in the stone quarries at Turbhe in Navi Mumbai. He had a son, Shekhar, who was blind from birth. His father had never let him out of the house for he was afraid for his safety. one day when Shekhar was twelve. Five boys from the local municipal school came to Shekhar‘s house. They were doing a survey of children who did not a survey of children who did not go to school. They were shocked to know that Shekhar had never stepped out of his house since his birth.
