Shruti goes to school with his brother Alok in their own car. The school is about 10 Km apart
from their home. They drive on alternate days. Alok is a very careful driver but Shruti derive
rashly. She takes 3 min. less than Alok in reaching their school. Alok advices Shruti to drive
safely but she hardly listens.
(1) what values are displayed by Alok? Do You aqree with him?
(2) What is the difference b/w average speed of Shruti and Alok if later takes 15 min. to
drive to the school?

The answers are as follows:
- Yes, I agree with Alok. Alok seems to be a responsible citizen and is mature enough to not to drive the car rashly.
Given:
Distance of school from home = 10 km = 10000 m
Time taken by Alok = 15 min = 900 sec
Time taken by Shruti = 15 min-3 min = 12 min = 720 sec
To find:
The difference between average speed of Shruti and Alok.
Solution:
Speed of Alok = Distance/ time = 10000/900 = 11.11 m/s
Speed of Shruti = 10000/720 = 13.89 m/s
Difference in speed = 13.89-11.11 m/s = 2.78 m/s
Therefore difference in their average speed is 2.78 m/s.
