Sound through earphones:

  • Sound transmission through earphones and headphones are really exciting.

  • The earphones are essentially conducting wires which connect to the terminal portion of the phones and computers.

  • When the device playes songs/audio, the electrical energy pàsses through the wire in the earphone.

  • At the terminal end of earphone, the electrical energy passing through the wires is converted to sound energy with the help of electromagnets. The electromagnets vibrate in the produce the sound which get transmitted from the earphones into the ear-canal.

  • From the ear-canal, the sound wave pàsses successively through the tympanic membrane, middle ear and reaches the inner ear from where it is taken up to brain through the auditory nerve.
