Step-by-step explanation:

the distance between PR = √pQ²+qr²

so PR = √12²+5²

√144+25

√169

13km

distance he saved is (12+5)-13=4 km

Step-by-step explanation:

Here in triangle PSR S makes 90 degree

thus on application of Pythagoras Theorem

i.e.

h^2=b^2 + h^2

x^2=12^2 +5^2

x^2=144 + 25

x^2=169

thus x=13 ;13^2 = 169
