Given :

Things Shurley required for her new bed are :

pillows , sheets and a comforter .

Choices she has for pillows are ;

black or white pillows.

Choices she has for sheets :

Striped or plaid sheets .

Choices she has for comforter :

Solid , polka-dot or  zebra print comforter .

To Find :

No of unique bedding combinations Shurley can have = ?

Solution :

She is having 2 choices for pillows ,2 for sheets also and 3 for comforter ,

And since all the  i.e. pillow , sheet and comforter are required so its a case of multiplication .

So, Total no of combinations will be :

= choices of pillow \times choices of sheets \times choices of comforter

= 2 \times 2 \times  3

= 12

So, she is having a total of 12 unique bedding combinations
