  1. Only a single central government could not administrate the whole land of the country. 2)Also there were some common religional linguistic cultural and social similartities which had to be grouped in a single state so as to make the administration work easier.
  2. The states of Sikhs, Marathas and Rajputs openly asserted their independance from the Mughal empire
  3. Chauth and Sardeshmukhi were two types of taxes collected in India, which were particularly collected by the Maratha Empire during the medieval times in our history.
  4. In the 17th century, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, founder of the Maratha Empire pioneered Shiva sutra or Ganimi Kava ( Guerrilla Tactics)
