Shwetha purchased a used kettle for Rs. 225. As she did not find it useful and so offered it to vinoth ( a friend of her) for Rs. 240 and sold it to him. But, shwetha felt bad after selling it and thought to buy it back from Vinoth by offering him Rs. 250. After having bought the kettle again shwetha felt that she did not actually need it. So she sold it at the market for Rs. 275. Do you think shwetha make any profit at all. If so what is the profit/loss shwetha made?

shweta made profit of rs 40
Step-by-step explanation:
first she buyed the the kettle for rs 225 and sold for rs 240. 240-225=15
so profit is 15. but then she bought it for rs 250.

Shwetha has a total profit of ₹40.
Step-by-step explanation:
Initial cost price of Kettle, CP = ₹ 225
First selling price of Kettle, SP = ₹ 240
Therefore, Shwetha gets a profit, P = SP -CP = ₹ 240 - ₹ 225 = ₹ 15
Second cost price of Kettle, CP = ₹ 250
Second selling price of Kettle, SP = ₹ 275
Therefore, Shwetha gets a profit, P = SP -CP = ₹ 275 -₹ 250 = ₹ 25
Net Profit earned = P + P = ₹ 15 + ₹ 25 = ₹ 40
