Shyam borrowed a certain sum from a bank at the rate of 8% per annum simple
interest.He lent the whole amount to Om at the rate of 12% per annum simple
interest. At the end of 3 years Shyam returned the loan with interest to the bank. In

S.I. = Principal×Time×Rate/100

According to the question,

x×12×3/100−x×8×3/100 = 720

→36x/100 - 24x/100 = 720

→12x/100 = 720
