Answer:

d=t×10

d=(t−2)×15

t=6hrs

d=60

60=5×s

speed =12 km/hr

Given,

If Shyam travels at 10 kmph he will reach point 'A' at 2 PM

If Shyam travels at 15 kmph he will reach point 'A' at 12 noon

To Find,

At what speed must he travel to reach point 'A' at 1 PM =?

Solution,

Let the distance travelled to reach point A = x

Time taken at speed 10kmph = x / 10

Similarly , Time taken at speed 15kmph = x / 15

Difference between reaching time  = Difference between 2pm and 12 noon = 2hrs

x / 10 - x / 15 = 2

(6x - 4x) / 60 = 2

2 x = 120

x = 120 / 2

x = 60 km

Time taken at speed 10kmph  = 60 / 10 = 6hrs

Time taken at speed 15kmph = 60 / 15 = 4hrs

To reach at 1 pm time take  = 4 + 1 [12 noon + 1 hr = 1 p.m.]

Required speed = 60 / 5 = 12kmph

Hence, Shyam must travel at 12 kmph to reach point 'A' at 1 PM.
