It is given

  • Simple Interest (S.I) = ₹ 852
  • Rate of Interest = 12 %
  • Time = 5 years

Need to calculate the value of P

we know the general formula for S.I i.e,

 \boxed{ \rm S.I =  \dfrac{P × R × T}{100} }

On making a subject formula for Principle (P)

 \rm \: P = \dfrac{100 × S.I}{R × T}

On Putting the values , we get

 \rm \: P = \dfrac{100 × 852}{12 × 5}   =   \cancel\dfrac{85200}{60}  \\  = ₹  \: 1420
