Sickle cell anaemia with defective haemoglobin shows some genetic diseases which can be prevented to some extent by proper genetic matching of prospective parents

sickle cell anaemia is a blood disease which is caused by gene mutation.it causes the cells to produce sickle shaped RBCs .it causes abnormality in the  oxygen carrying protein,causes swelling in the hands and feet,bacterial infections and stroke.it leads to various chronic complications and has high mortality rates
