Siddharth is painting the walls and ceiling of a cuboidal room with length, breadth and height of 20 m, 12 m and 10 m respectively. An area of 80 m2 can be painted from each can, Find out how many cans of paint will be required to paint the room.​

Area of four walls = Lateral surface area of the cuboidal room

= 2(1 + b) x h

= 64 m x 10 m = 640 m²

Area of the ceiling = 1 x b

=20 m x 12 m = 240 m²

Total area to be painted =

(640 + 240) m² = 880 m²

Number of cans required

= 880 / 80 = 11
