With the introduction of advanced technologies, the increasing use of smart phones and other devices harms the millennial generation considerably. Students are developing a deep link to their mobile phones, contributing to a significant lack of focus and time spent learning. Parents and instructors typically have trouble combating students' distractions.

Explanation:

Steps to Spend Less time on Mobile

  • If we disable all "unnecessary notifications",we are less likely to  keep checking the phone and this way we can reduce the screen time. Even muting the device can stop  alerts and can end the impulse to check the phones  as and when notifications pop up
  • Keep the apps that you want to encourage yourself to use — like those for reading or learning a new language — front & center, but banish anything that you want to limit your time with to folders on your second page of apps (or if you have an Android phone, off the screen entirely).  To go a step further, you could even delete certain apps such as Facebook or Twitter entirely and relegate your usage to your smartphone’s web browser
  • Do not let your phone be the last thing you see in the night & the first thing you check in the morning. By using a normal alarm clock & charging the phone out of reach, you are not going to be tempted to begin your day by getting into a flood of "texts & alerts"..
  • Keep your phone away from the study table. Place it in the room of your parents. If this is important to keep your phone in your study room, keep it silent or switch it off. Keep away from communicating or messaging to your friends on the internet , social media. It's going to help you stick to your own goal. When you get bore studying throughout, take a break and go for refreshment for at least 15 minutes instead of messaging your friend.
