Let ABCD be the parallelogram.

AM be the altitude corresponding to the base CD and CN be the altitude corresponding to the base AD.

It is given AM = 8 cm, CD = 50 cm and CN = 4 cm.

We know that area of parallelogram = base × corresponding height

∴ area of parallelogram ABCD = CD × AM

= (50 × 8) cm2 ...(1)

Also, area of parallelogram ABCD = AD × CN

= AD × 4 cm2 ...(2)

Equating (1) and (2)

50 × 8 = AD × 4
400=4AD
AD= 400/4
AD=100
Therefore another pair of parallel sides of parallelogram is 100cm
