Side effects of contaminated water:
1. It can cause various disease like cholera, dysentry etc.
2. It can cause metal-poison effect with acvumulation of metals like-
- Mercury (cause minamata disease)
- Arsenic (Black-foot disease)
- Cadmium (wounds in digestive tract)
3. It causes huge harms in agriculture.
4. Fishes, Crabs, Lobsters, other creatures which live in water, face a bad death and extinction.
5. Polluted water harms the balance of ecosystem.
6. Mosquitoes,House-flies breed well in polluted stagnant water. Mosquitoes causes malaria, dengue, elephantiasis among humans.
7. Harmful gases like CO2, CH4, NOx emitted from polluted water cause air pollution and global warming.
These are the bad-effects of Water pollution. Indian-government is taking cleaning actions to reduce the pollutions in river and sea.
We should also be aware of this. Because ultimately our own works are causing water-pollution.
