A square is defined a polygon with 4 sides of equal length So would measure 3 x 3 and you want the hypotenuse.

Pythagorus states that a (squared) + b (squared) = hypotenuse (squared)

Applied our your problem;

3 squared + 3 squared = hypotenuse squared

9 + 9 = hypotenuse squared

18 squared.

So all you do now is take the square root of 18 to find your answer which is 4.24 to 2 d.p.
