Side of square: 4 cm

Now, we know each angle of square is 90°

So if ABCD is the square with sides AB BC CD AD

and diagonals AC and BD

Then, Applying pythagoras theorem;

(AC)^2 = (AB)^2 + (BC)^2

(AC)^2 = (4)^2 + (4)^2

(AC)^2 = 16 + 16

(AC)^2 = 32

AC = 32

AC = 2 × 2 × 2 ×2 × 2

AC = 42
