Answer:

AREA OF SHADED REGION = AREA OF SQUARE - AREA OF AREA OF 4 SECTORS

= 50 × 50 - 3.14 × 25 × 25

= 2500 - 1962.5

= 537.5 cm 2

Answer:

535.72 m² (approx.)

Formula used:

Area of square = side²

Area of circle = \pi(radius)²

Step-by-step explanation:

If you join all the quadrants you'll get a circle.

  • Radius of circle = side/2
  • Thus area of circle = 22/7 x 50/2 x 50/2
  • Area of square = 50 x 50

Now area (shaded region) = Area of square - Area of Circle

= 50 x 50 - 22/7 x 50/2 x 50/2

(Take 50 x 50 common)

= 50 x 50 (1 - 22/7 x 1/2 x 1/2)

= 2500 (1-22/28)

= 2500 [(28 - 22)/28]

= 2500 (6/28)

= 2500 (3/14)

= 7500/14

= 535.72 m² (approx.)

Hope it helps! :))
