here 8.5 is assumed as hypotenuse because hypotenuse is the longest side in right triangle so if it's right triangle the hypotenuse can only be 8.5

16 + 56.25 = 72.25

LHS = RHS

72.25 = 72.25

so yes it's a right triangle
