Sides of a triangular field are 25m,45m and 50m. Find its area and altitude corresponding to the longer side

Here,

a=25m

b=45m

c=50m

s=(a+b+c)/2

=120/2

=60m

From herons formula,

√(s)(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

=√(60×35×15×10)

=√(3×2×10×5×7×5×3×10)

=3×5×10√(2×7)

=150√14 m^2

Now,

Area of triangle=1/2×base×height

1/2×h×50=150√14

25h=150√14

h=6√14 m

Therefore, altitude=6√14 m
