If points are collinear, they are on a line.

So point B is on the line AC.

Graph of line AC : slope -1, passes C(2,-1)

$y+1=-(x-2)$ ∴ $y=-x+1$

Put y value into function, and we get x.

Given point is B(P,2)

By putting x, y value $2=-P+1$

∴$P=-1$
