The 1848 Revolution in France, sometimes known as the February Revolution (révolution de Février), was one of a wave of revolutions in 1848 in Europe. In France the revolutionary events ended the July Monarchy (1830–1848) and led to the creation of the French Second Republic.

February Revolution is also referred as Liberal Nationalism of 1848. During this time the ideas of nationalism were closely allied with the ideologies of liberalism.
In France, it brought a huge change in political system. National Assembly declared France a Republic. It granted suffrage to all males above 21 and right to work.
In Germany it led the first attempt of unification in the Frankfurt Parliament.
