Significance of Mitigation:

The significance of mitigation is its aim to reduce the severity of loss, harm, or destruction due to hazardous calamities.

The main strategies for mitigation are the goals, the actions, and the action plan taken to reduce the hazard impact.

Any natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, famine all lead to a huge loss of lives and wealth and mitigation efforts play a major role in bringing life back to normal after the calamity.

Mitigation efforts undertaken to prevent climate change due to global warming are a must for every country.

Mitigation for preventing natural and man-made hazards like landslides, forest fires etc prevent loss to a great extent.
