Research includes any formal gathering of data, information and facts for the advancement of knowledge and mainly for the purpose of making business decisions.


There are 2 types of data collection techniques in researches. First is primary data and other secondary. Questionnaire is a part of primary data as data is collected from scratch.


A questionnaire is a research tool primarily used to collect information from a population of individuals in a specific geographical area for the purpose of gathering information from respondents. A questionnaire consists of both open ended and closed ended questions for the collection of data.


Moreover questionnaires consume less time, low in cost, generates a large amount of data, format is understood by respondents, answers can be easily analyzed, sensitive topics are easily answered in private etc.
