While India's Independence Day celebrates its freedom from British Rule, the Republic Day celebrates the coming into force of its constitution. A draft constitution was prepared by the committee and submitted to the Constituent Assembly on 4 November 1947.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first president of our country was sworn in as the president on January 26th, 1950.Every year the republic day celebrations take place over 3 days and are concluded on January 29th every year. Hindi, was declared as the national language on January 26th, 1965.
Annually in the national capital, New Delhi, a huge celebration event is organized at the Rajpath, India gate before the president of India. A grand parade of Indian army takes place at Raj path to honor the Indian flag. A floral wreath tribute event at the Amar Jawan Jyothi takes place by the prime minister of India to pay tribute and honor to the martyred soldiers at the India gate. Names of all the freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives for the country are written at the India Gate.
