Answer:So The significance of Standard meridian is to manage time difference in the country. Standard meridian is an imaginary line which passes through Mirzapur ,Uttar Pradesh .It lies almost at 82.30'E. It determines the time over the India. As there is a time lag of 2 hours between estern and western point of India.
